Join the County at Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste events
Residents looking to safely dispose of a variety of hazardous and electronic waste products will have the opportunity to do so at upcoming Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste events on September 21, October 5 and November 9.
On Saturday, September 21, from 8 am to 3 pm at the Shelburne Works Yard at 124 Luxton Way, Shelburne, Waste Services staff will be onsite to welcome community members and ensure the proper disposal of waste items, like those listed below:
Hazardous Waste
- Automotive containers
- Cleaning products
- Fluorescent lights
- Batteries
- Paints
- Pesticides
- Pharmaceuticals
- Syringes
Electronic Waste
- Audio equipment
- Cameras
- Computers
- Home entertainment
- Equipment
- Phones
- Household electronic items, including lamps, alarm clocks, microwaves, toasters and small appliances
Limitations
Items that cannot be disposed of at this event include:
- Waste from industrial, commercial, or institutional sources.
- White goods/large appliances (including any appliances with freon)
- Garbage or recycling
- Unidentified/unknown materials
- Drums of materials
