PRESS RELEASE - Dufferin Oaks COVID-19 Update

For Immediate Release: Saturday, April 4 – 10:00 am

Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care Home (operated by Dufferin County) in Shelburne, Ontario, was informed by Public Health that two additional cases have been identified:  one staff and one resident.

Dufferin Oaks is continuing to follow all Wellington Dufferin Public Health directives. Infection prevention is our priority. Isolation measures are in place and staff in the impacted units are using full PPE (gowns, masks and gloves) and staff throughout the facility are wearing masks. Anyone that is experiencing symptoms is not able to work and is to be tested at the assessment centre.

There is community transmission in Dufferin County and we are working closely with Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health as the situation evolves.

Dufferin Oaks is being responsive to what is happening and is providing residents the best possible care in these extraordinary times.

Information will be provided as it becomes available.
