PRESS RELEASE

County of Dufferin
55 Zina Street
Orangeville, ON L9W 1E5

For Immediate Release: Monday, April 6, 2020 – 10:00 am

The Forest Will Wait for You…

The County of Dufferin is asking that patrons of the County Forest and the former Rail Trail stay home. Over the weekend there was a full parking lot at the Main Tract and complaints were received. The County is advising that all forest tracts will be closed as of Monday, April 6, 2020.

“While it may not be possible to sign and fence off every entrance we are confident that our residents will do their part and leave the forest and all of the public trails be for now. They will wait for you and be there when the pandemic is over.” said Warden Darren White.

In addition to preventing the spread of COVID-19, we are concerned with the injuries that may occur on the remote trails that will put a strain on first responders and the heath care system.

STAY HOME!
