Dufferin County Council Elects Darren White as 147th Warden
At its meeting last night, Dufferin County Council elected Darren White, Mayor of Melancthon, as the County’s 147th Warden.
The Warden acts as the head of County Council and is a member of all standing Council committees.
Council also selected two new chairs to lead standing committees of County Council, including:
- Todd Taylor, Deputy Mayor of Orangeville, as the Chair of the Infrastructure and Environmental Services Committee
- Lisa Post, Mayor of Orangeville, as the Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee
John Creelman, Mayor of Mono, will remain the Chair of the General Government Services Committee and Janet Horner, Mayor of Mulmur Township, will remain the Chair of the Community Development and Tourism Committee.
The County thanks Wade Mills, Mayor of Shelburne, for his dedication as the previous Warden of County Council and congratulates the new Dufferin County Warden and Committee Chairs!
