Road Line Painting

Line Painting

Line painting is performed at various times throughout the year. Please exercise patience – do not drive on fresh paint.

If you do get line paint on your vehicle, do not scrub with a solvent as this will damage your car's finish. As soon as possible after getting paint on your vehicle, wash the vehicle at a pressure car wash. This will loosen and remove most of the paint unless it has dried for more than a day.

If the car wash does not remove the paint, allow the water to dry and then spray the paint residue with WD-40. Allow the WD-40 to stay on the area for 1 - 2 hours and then rewash the vehicle. If there is a heavy concentration, repeat the procedure.

For heavy accumulations of paint that has dried for several days, apply a liberal coating of Vaseline petroleum jelly to the dried paint and leave it overnight. Then wash your vehicle. If necessary, repeat the procedure.

After cleaning the paint, apply a coat of wax to the vehicle's finish. Wax should remove any lasting signs of paint.

To remove paint from wheel wells, apply a coat of Vaseline petroleum jelly to the area and leave for several days before washing. Applying a rubbing alcohol to the area will help soften any reside left after the Vaseline.
