Access Dufferin
The Council of every municipality having a population of more than 10,000 people is required to establish an accessibility advisory committee, made up of members of the public. The committee advises the council about the requirements and implementation of accessible standards.
Pursuant to the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee shall:
- Advise the respective Councils about the requirements and implementation of accessibility standards and the preparation of accessibility reports and such other matters for which Council may seek its advice
- Review in a timely manner the site plans and drawings described in section 41 of the Planning Act that the committee selects; and
- Perform all other functions that are specified in the regulations
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Community Advisory Committee
The mandate for the committee will be to advise the County Council, make recommendations and provide a monitoring and measuring role to help ensure that the County applies a diversity, equity and inclusion lens to its policies, services and programs.
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Community Advisory Committee is not recorded. Any members of the public wishing to observe the meeting can contact the Clerk’s Office at info@dufferincounty.ca or 519-941-2816 ext. 2500 before 4 pm on the day of the meeting.

Dufferin County Homelessness Task Force
The mandate for the committee will be to identify innovative and sustainable options that will provide housing and support services to the unhoused in Dufferin County. Duties will include:
- Collaborating with current Homelessness tables and organizations providing support
- Identification and analysis of:
- Additional tools and resources to enhance current homelessness services and providers
- Potential opportunities for deeply affordable housing and supports based on best practices and examples in other jurisdictions
- Associated costs and resources
- Implementation timelines
- Assessment of the Dufferin County Housing Strategy
- Community education and engagement
Dufferin Outdoor Recreation Advisory Committee
The Dufferin Outdoor Recreation Advisory Team is a working group and forum for discussion. It is an advisory body and may make recommendations to County staff and County Council.

Joint Compliance Audit Committee
The Joint Compliance Audit Committee is responsible for reviewing compliance audit applications submitted by an elector who believes on reasonable grounds that a candidate or third-party advertiser has contravened the provisions of the Municipal Elections Act relating to campaign or advertising finances. The Committee will be responsible for reviewing applications for all eight Dufferin municipalities.
