Coming up in December at the MoD
The Museum of Dufferin (MoD) collects and preserves the stories of the people, places and culture of Dufferin County — past and present — and shares them through engaging and inclusive experiences. The MoD offers a welcoming, unique and enriching environment for its visitors, with an eclectic variety of experiences by way of exhibitions, events, programs and tours. There’s something for everyone – here’s what’s coming up in December at the MoD!
The 20th Annual Holiday Treasures Arts & Crafts Market returns to the Museum of Dufferin between November 27 and December 8. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, this market is the perfect chance to pick up handmade gifts from over 68 vendors, makers and craft-persons. Explore the Museum of Dufferin and support small local businesses this season, all in one stop! Admission by donation, or included with registration to the Museum’s creative, seasonal workshops on market days.
Garland Making | November 28, 11:00 am
Try your hand at making natural and rustic garlands in this one-hour workshop! Using materials including dried oranges, ornaments, herbs and more you can make the perfect vintage-inspired garland for your home or as a gift!
$25 plus HST per person.
Soap Making Workshop | Friday, November 29, 11:30 am
Try your hand at making your own soap bars in this one and a half-hour workshop! Using your own customizable scents and additives, you can make the perfect set of hand-made soap bars for your home or as a gift!
$50 plus HST per person.
Family Stained Glass Painting Workshop | November 30, 11:00 am
Try your hand at making a painted stained-glass piece in this one-hour workshop! Using stained glass paints and provided stencils, you and your family can make the perfect vintage-inspired stained glass frame for your home or as a gift!
$30 plus HST per family. (Maximum four participants.)
Children’s Salt-Dough Ornament Workshop | November 30, 2:00 pm
This one-hour workshop provides the perfect opportunity for parents to shop in our Holiday Treasures Arts and Crafts Sale while your children make and decorate homemade salt-dough ornaments! Each child will get a minimum of 3 ornaments to take with them.
$15 plus HST per child.
Crochet Stocking Workshop | December 5, 11:00 am
Try your hand at crocheting your own mini stocking in this one-hour workshop! Using festive coloured wool and a crochet hook, you can make a mini crochet stocking, perfect for gift cards or even a museum membership!
$25 plus HST per person.
Garland Making | December 6, 11:00 am

Children’s Christmas Cracker Workshop | December 7, 2:30 pm
This one-hour workshop provides the perfect opportunity for parents to shop in our Holiday Treasures Arts and Crafts Sale while your children make and decorate homemade Christmas crackers! Each child will get 2 crackers to take with them.
$15 plus HST per child.
Wreath Making Workshop | December 8, 11:00 am
Using foliage from the local Dufferin County Forest, a 10-inch wreath, and other festive materials, grab a friend or two and try out this one-hour wreath making workshop!
$35 plus HST per person.
MoD Tots: Winter Wonderland! | December 18, two time slots: 9:00 am and 11:00 am
Join us for MoD-Tots: Winter Wonderland! Enjoy the snowy season indoors with your toddler through tot-friendly winter themed crafts and sensory play! Registration and caregiver participation are required.
$7 plus HST per child.
About the MoD
