Dufferin County maintains an interactive mapping site that can be used to search parcel data, view topographical mapping, view municipal boundaries, review traffic data, and more.
A Geographic Information System (GIS), is a spatially enabled computer-based tool for mapping and analyzing things on earth. GIS integrates common database operations such as querying, reporting and statistical analysis with powerful analysis tools. As it is spatially enabled , GIS lets you explore and analyze data by location which can reveal hidden patterns, relationships and trends. The main components to a GIS are Software and Data.
GIS software is used create, manipulate, analyze and display geographic information. Dufferin County currently uses ESRI software to create, mange and publish spatial data. Additionally, Safe Software’s FME and Autodesk’s AutoCAD Map are utilized as well by Dufferin County’s GIS Division. ESRI’s ArcGIS Online is used to allow the public to utilize GIS Interactive Mapping over the internet.
The County of Dufferin has created and maintains numerous spatial data sets that it uses to accomplish its business goals and objectives. While the County of Dufferin produces its own GIS data, some data originates from other sources. These sources include local municipalities, the Province of Ontario, Conservation Authorities among other sources. The County’s data is available at our Open Data site or can be accessed through ArcGIS Online.

The Dufferin County Interactive Mapping GIS System can be used to:
- Print a map.
- Find a property on a map using an address or rural 6 digit emergency number or a 15 digit tax roll number.
- View multiple years’ worth of aerial photography of a property or place.
- Research the applicable zoning(s) of a property. Please note that the zonings provided may not reflect the current zoning as updates are typically done in five year period consolidations.
- Research the applicable Official Plan designation(s) of a property. Please note that the Official Plan designations provided may not reflect the current designations as updates are typically done in five year period consolidations.
- Measure approximate areas, depths, or frontages of lot parcels by using the measure tool.
- Measure approximate distances between properties or points by using the measure tool.
- View the Parcel Fabric (approximate property boundaries) of properties.
- And much more!
Please note: To verify Zoning and Official Plan Designations, you should contact the appropriate local municipality.
All of the digital orthophotography on the Dufferin County Interactive Mapping was flown by these vendors either as part of a Ministry of Natural Resources Orthophotography partnership called SWOOP or flown for Dufferin County exclusively. Imagery may be available for purchase from the vendors.

The County of Dufferin (hereinafter referred to as ”the County”) provides this application and the information available within it as a reference only and has not customized the information (hereinafter referred to as the ”Site Products”) for any specific purpose. The Site Products were generated from Geographic Information System (GIS) data maintained by different sources. Some limitations may apply based upon restrictions imposed by other sources. Areas depicted by the Site Products are approximate, and are not necessarily accurate to mapping, surveying, or engineering standards. The Site Products are for illustration and informational purposes only and as such, may not be suitable for lot parcel – specific decision making, are subject to constant changes, and may not be complete, accurate or current. The Site Products are not to be considered a legal survey. Any specific map coordinates may be in error by several metres or more. A digital map layer may have registration errors and not overlay with other map layers correctly.
The County of Dufferin reserves the right to change, restrict or discontinue access to the Site Products at any time.
Terms of Use
Acceptance. To use the Corporation of the County of Dufferin – maps.dufferincounty.ca interactive mapping application, You must agree to the following terms and conditions (the ”Terms and Conditions”):
Grant of Licence. The Corporation of the County of Dufferin (”Licensor”) hereby grants to you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view and print a single copy of the material on the Corporation of the County of Dufferin Interactive Mapping website (the ”Site Products”):
(i) in the case of a natural person, solely for User’s personal, non-commercial use; and otherwise, for User’s internal process, operations and administrations, excluding any direct monetary or commercial gain and further excluding any sale, external distribution or licence whether or not for a fee.
Licence Restrictions. Unless otherwise specified User may not copy, modify, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, link to or frame in another website, use on any other website, transfer or sell the Site Products in whole or in part either voluntarily or by operation of law. The foregoing prohibition expressly includes, but is not limited to, the practice of screen scraping, database scraping or any such practice or activity; the purpose of which is to obtain data or portions thereof in any manner or any quantities not expressly authorized hereunder.
Maintenance of Data. User hereby acknowledges that Licensor and its suppliers are not required to provide any updates, fixes, new versions, new releases, maintenance and/or support of any kind for the Site Products to Users.
Ownership. The user acknowledges that:
(i) The Site Products contain technical information and commercial information and copyright, trade secret rights and other intellectual property and proprietary rights reside in the Site Products;
(ii) Licensor, and its suppliers, hold copyright and other intellectual and proprietary rights in the Site Products and all right, title and interest in and to the Site Products and all modifications thereto will at all times be vested in and remain the property of Licensor and its suppliers;
(iii) No ownership rights in and to the Site Products are transferred to User;
(iv) Licensor hereby reserves all copyright, trade secret, and other intellectual property and proprietary rights not expressly granted hereunder; and
(v) Disclosure of the Site Products by User would significantly prejudice the competitive position in the marketplace of Licensor or its suppliers or interfere significantly with other contractual negotiations of Licensor or its Suppliers.
No Warranties/Limitation Of Liability. Licensor and its suppliers makes no warranties with respect to the Site Products, and User acknowledges the Site Products are provided on an ”as is” and ”as available” basis, without any warranties, representations or conditions, express or implied including warranties, representations or conditions of merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement of third party rights, or those arising by law or by usage of trade or course of dealing. The entire risk as to the results and performance of the Site Products is assumed by the User.
